where Rothko left off with the horizontal and vertical.“
So ein Statement von John Hoyland, einer der profiliertesten Maler Englands,
der in der Kunstgeschichte seinen fixen Platz innehat,
und mittlerweile als der europäische Mark Rothko gehandelt wird.
Künstlerischer Ausgangspunkt ist der abstrakte Expressionismus der 60er Jahre.
John Hoyland lebt und arbeitet in London.
